Early Childhood Studies
The Early Childhood Studies Program at Riverside Community provides a quality educational program for college students who are pursuing a career in the field of Early Childhood Education. Students may take a wide array of college courses that lead to the State of California Child Development Permit, ECS certificates, or an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Studies or Early Childhood Intervention. Our courses offer to students an in-depth and thorough educational experience in early childhood research, pedagogy, and practicum.
Our program also provides Child Development centers on each campus that function as a teacher-training laboratory for the Department of Early Childhood Studies. We offer a culturally rich, child-oriented environment where the cognitive, social, emotional, creative and physical health and safety of all children are nurtured and protected. We work to develop a trusting and supportive relationship with children, parents and college students.
