How does the Ford ASSET Program work?

The Ford ASSET program is one of several career entry programs sponsored by Ford Motor Company. Additional information on this program can be found at www.fordasset.com

The program consists of 18 week semesters divided into:

  • 9 weeks Ford and Academic instruction at the college
  • 9 weeks hand-on PAID work experience the dealership

Ford ASSET is a two-year concurrent associates degree program. Students must begin the program in the first semester and continue the two years to complete successfully.

During the two years students spend 1/2 of each semester at the college learning about a certain part or parts of the vehicle and then go to their sponsoring dealership where you are placed under the supervision of a experienced technician in the area just studied at the college.

While at the dealership students are PAID an hourly wage for the repairs they perform.

It is this college to dealership partnership that has made ASSET such a success! When you learn at the college and then go to a dealership, you are well equipped with the knowledge to make accurate repairs on state of the art automotive systems.

Earn while you learn:

It costs approximately $400.00 for each semester at RCC (without any financial aid) each ASSET student works a minimum of 300 hours each semester at the dealer. If the ASSET student makes only $7.00 /hr, that’s $2,100.00 per semester.
