Admissions & Records

Contact of visit the admissions & records department in order to turn in an application for admission, get assistance in registering for classes, take an RCC photo ID, and turn in add/drop cards. Also, students can apply for an Associate in Arts of Science degree or certificate for any career program in Admissions & Records. Interested students may also apply for concurrent enrollment with the admissions & records department.

Assessment

Take the assessment test once a current RCC application has been submitted. The Riverside Campus adminsters the test on a walk-in basis and Norco and Moreno Valley campuses have block appointments as well as walk-in appointments. There are special test dates for concurrent enrollment students. Appointments can be made with the assessment cetner for the ESL test.

Bookstore

Purchase textbooks, classroom supplies, drinks, and snacks at the RCC bookstore. New and used books are usually available at the bookstore. The bookstore accepts personal checks with a valid driver's license. All major credit cards are also accepted.

The career & transfer center is a valuable resource for students in need of assistance in making career decisions. The center provides students with trained staff and a wide-ranging collection of printed and audiovisual material, computer programs, and many other resources to assist students in pursuing their career goals.

College Safety & Police

In addition to patrolling the RCCD campuses, safety and police peronnel are also available for battery jumps, assisting with parking problems, and providing lockout services for you inf you are locked out of your vehicle. (*They can only provide lockout services for manual locks.) Safety and police personnel also provide escort services to ensure that you can work to your car safely. Counseling

Counseling is available by appointment or walk-in during the fall or spring semesters. Conuselors are available by walk-in appointments only during the winter and summer sessions. Both day and evening appointments are available. Students are strongly recommended to meet with a counselor at least once a semester for assistance in creating an educational plan.

DSP & S provides educational services and access for students with documented disabilities. DSP & S has a comprehensive program that promotes academic achievement, independence, self-advocacy, and social inclusion for students in disability groups outlined under California's Title V Regulations (Acquired Brain Injury, Physical, Psychological, Learning, Developmental, Psychological, and Temporary Disabilities, and Hearing and other impairment).

EOPS: Extended Opportunity Programs & Services

EOPS provides many services for financially and educationally disadvantaged students who are accepted in to the program including academic and career couseling, priority registration for the fall and spring semesters, book vouchers, and turorial services. Students who are eligible must be a California resident, enrolled in 12+ units, completed less than 7 units, qualify for BOGW A or B through financial services, and have an educational disadvantage as determined by the RCC assessment scores or other assessments.

Health Service

The health center provides students with a service that is dedicated to maintaining the student's optimum physical, mental, and emotional health. The center is supported by the Health Services fee that is included in the registration fees. This enables the health center to provide students with general medical, nursing, and other services as well as on campus insurance for injuries that may occur on campus. The RCCD libraries are excellent tools for finding books, journals, and other resources on research in a particular field. The libary has several career explorations, job search, and resume writing references at their disposal. Also, the libraries have excellent online journals and articles for career and technical education. If students would like information on a particular career, the library has access to stae and federal occupational handbooks online as well as online job search resources to assist students in obtaining knowledge about their career field and possible employment.

The outreach department is responsible for informing the community about the programs and the services offered at Riverside Community College. The outreach department offers campus tours and information on the many education programs offered at RCC. Students are provided with an excellent opportunity to participate in clubs, activities, and the student government on campus. Student activities are great accomplishments to put on transcripts or resumes. Students may also have an opportunity to participate in some of the student organizations associated with some of the occupational programs. Students are strongly encourgaed to inquire about their eligibility for financial aid while attending RCCD. The majority of the students who attend RCCD qualify for some form of financial assistance. The financial services department has quality staff that can assist students in completing financial aid applications and educating students on various financial aid options as well as what type of aid a student is eligible for. Student financial services offer students who are eligible with a wide variety of programs that will assist them with their educational expenses. Transcripts

Any current student at RCCD has access to tutorial services. The tutorial services department is a useful resource for students who are having difficulty in a particular subject. The tutorial sercices department offers tutoring for almost any subject offerd at RCCD. Tutorial Services offers a comfortable environment for learning by providing an opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge in a subject matter by working with their peers. The occupational education department also offers tutoring through the VTEA grant for occupational education students.

The Writing & Reading Center is an excellent resource for students who need help writing affective essays for their English or writing classes or an class in which essays are part of the curriculum. The writing center has an English professor on hand at all times to assist students with their writing.
