- How do I enroll?
- There are three steps to enrolling at RCC:
- You must complete an RCC application. You can either complete a paper application which are no longer accepted two weeks before the start of the term or may complete an online application at www.rcc.edu.
- Once your application has been processed, you may take the assessment test offered at any of the three assessment centers. You do not have to take the assessment test if you have taken math or English at another college or have already taken the assessment test no more than three years ago.
- Once you have completed the assessment test, you will be able to make an appointment for orientation with the counseling department. You do not have to complete the orientation process if you are a returning student or you are transferring from another universtiy.
Once these three steps are complete, you will be assigned a registration date to register for classes.
- How quickly can I complete a program?
- Some locally approved certificates (under 18 units) can be completed in one semester while an Associate in Science degree program could take two years or more.
- How do I apply to programs?
- Most of the career and technical programs offered at RCC simply require that you complete the admissions process however some programs, like Cosmetology and Nursing, have special applications and registration requirements. Check out when to apply or contact the program for deadlines.
- When do programs begin?
- Most required courses for a particular program are offered in the Fall and/or Spring semester of each year. Some classes (not all) are also offered in the Winter or Summer terms. Students may begin taking courses at RCC in any semester.
- What is a technical and career program?
- Any course of study that offers an Associate's in Science degree or certificate in a particular specialization that is designed to lead to employment.
- Are there any admissions requirements for these programs?
- Most career programs follow the admissions guidelines for the college. These requirements are that a student must be atleast 18 years of age or have a high school diploma or a GED. However, some programs such as Nursing and Physician Assistant require that you meet certain requirements before you can be accepted in to the program. You may refer to the Occupational Education Handbook or contact the departments for further information.
