Information Services - Wireless Access
The RCC District wireless network is for District faculty, staff and students only. Access to the wireless network is granted through your staff or student account. Use of the RCCD District wireless network by non RCC employees or students is strictly prohibited. All access through the network may be monitored and logged. Any illegal use of the wireless network will be reported to the proper authorities.
The first step to obtain a wireless network connection is to complete a "Registration for Wireless Network Connection" form which you can download from the District website. Please note that the online form can only be submitted from a computer connected to the RCC District network. Submitting the form outside of the network will not be processed. The MAC address on your wireless card will be registered on the District network and your access will be set up after we receive a signed copy of the document noted above. Only one active MAC address can be used per staff member or student. District wireless network accounts will be set up and managed only by RCC District Network Support staff. The Digital Library/Learning Resources Center wireless network is a separate system and managed by DLLRC staff.
In filling out the application, please note that wireless access will not be granted if any of the blanks contain inappropriate (such as N/A), or missing information. If you do not have anti-virus, you will need to buy an antivirus program and install it on your laptop or other wireless device. Anti-virus supplied by AOL that is not installed on your local machine is not acceptable. Also, Macintosh computers are not immune to viruses and therefore need antivirus software also.
The Workgroup/Domain name is required on all PC type computers. Without it access will not be granted. For PC type computers All fields are required! For Macintosh type computers the workgroup or domain name option may be left blank. All other fields are required.
