Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee
The role of the Citizens' Bond Oversight committee is to inform the public concerning the District's expenditure of revenues received from the sale of bonds under Measure C authorized by the voters in the election of March 2004. The bond provides local funds for the acquisition, construction, improvement, and renovation of college facilities as outlined in the ballot measure. The Committee meets throughout the year and, as part of its responsibilities, issues an annual report to the Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees and the public.
Chairman of the Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee George Beloz, Ph.D., presented the Committee's annual report to the Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees on August 21, 2007. Three other committee members joined Chairman Beloz at the meeting: Jamil Dada, Cythnia Urrutia, and Peter Serbantes.
The Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee was formed in August 2004 following the passage of Measure C by voters living in RCCD's service area. Membership on the independent committee comprises seven individuals, representing various segments of the community, including business, retirement, tax-payers associations, labor, and students. Members are appointed by the RCCD Board of Trustees.
