World-Renowned Concert Pianist and Teacher Daniel Pollack to Give Master Class at RCC; Students, Public Invited

Daniel Pollack, a world-renowned concert pianist and teacher who has toured and performed as a soloist with orchestras throughout the United States and on four other continents, will conduct a piano master class at Riverside City College on Sunday, November 8.
Last spring, Pollack experienced the honor--rare for a foreigner--of being asked to present a master class at the Moscow Conservatory. Acknowledged as a child prodigy in the 1940s, he performed with the New York Philharmonic at the age of 9 and studied at Julliard before going to Vienna as a Fulbright Scholar. During his career, he has performed solo recitals in the major music centers of the world including London's Royal Festival Hall, Vienna's Musikverein, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, Buenos Aires' Teatro Colon, Seoul's Arts Center, New York's Carnegie Hall, Chicago's Orchestra Hall, and Los Angeles' Music Center.
His appearance at Riverside City College is sponsored by the RCC Performing Arts Department and the Riverside branch of the Music Teacher’s Association of California. Four local pianists will appear in the Master Class program including two high school students and a three-time RCC piano scholarship winner. The public is welcome to attend the free event and high school and college piano students are encouraged to take advantage of what could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The Piano Master Class with Daniel Pollack is scheduled for 2 pm in the Digital Library Auditorium on November 8. Parking is available in Lot B adjacent to the O.W. Noble Administration Building near the corner of Magnolia and Ramona Avenues. For more information, call (951) 222-8793.
