Accreditation 2009
President's Welcome
Thank you for visiting the Riverside City College accreditation website. Everything you need to know about our accreditation process is available on the links from this page. I cannot emphasize enough how proud I am of the efforts that the RCC Accreditation team led by Tom Allen, associate professor of English and Speech Communication, has taken to bring us to this conclusion.
Here's how the accreditation process began. At its meeting on January 9-11, 2008, the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, reviewed the institutional self-study report and the report of the evaluation team which visited Riverside City College on Monday, October 8, to Thursday, October 11, 2007. The Commission took action to reaffirm accreditation with a requirement that the College complete two Follow-up Reports. Riverside City College is proud to have completed the first Follow-up Report prior to our October 15, 2008 deadline, and we are now anticipating our second accreditation site visit with a team led by Dr. Sherrill Amador on October 20, 2009 to review our second Follow-up Report.
All colleges are required to file annual reports and a Midterm Report in the third year after each comprehensive evaluation. Riverside City College is on schedule to submit its Midterm Report by October 15, 2010. Midterm Reports indicate resolution of any team recommendations made for improvement, include a summary of progress on college-identified plans for improvement as expressed in the self-study report, and forecast where the college expects to be by the time of the next comprehensive evaluation. The next comprehensive evaluation of the college will occur during Fall 2013.
It is my pleasure to provide the community with this display of Riverside City College's accreditation accomplishments.
Dr. Jan Muto, President
