Rcc PEER health educators
Who are we?
Under the guidance of RCCD's Health Services Director, Peer Health Educators (PHE) are currently enrolled students of the District who have a special interest in disease prevention and wellness. The intent of the PHE program is to improve the health and wellness of the school's population by emphasizing prevention. We seek to accomplish this through the use of health education and other outreach methods. The peer driven nature allows us to use approaches that are relevant to the needs of the students and provide practical methods to achieve them.
Our focus for 2009-2010
According to the Center for Disease Control and Preventions Research Center:
Adequate physical activity and a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can help protect adults from many chronic diseases. Because of these factors the premise that guides our activities it that the more you do to care for your health now, the less you have to worry about treatment later in your life.
