RCC Hosts Successful Fall 2024 HVAC/R Career Fair, Connecting Students with Industry Leaders

Riverside City College (RCC) proudly hosted its Fall 2024 HVAC/R Career Fair, a highly anticipated event designed to connect students with leading professionals in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) industry. With 151 students, 14 contractors, 1 manufacturer, 1 parts house, and 3 local UA (United Association) groups in attendance, the event showcased RCC’s commitment to preparing students for promising careers in this vital field.

The career fair was organized through the combined efforts of Kfir Mendelovitz, RCC’s Lead HVAC/R Faculty; HVAC/R students; the RCC HVAC Club; the RCC HVAC/R Student Union Chapter; and Meriel Anderson-McDade. Their collaborative work ensured a seamless event that provided valuable networking opportunities for both students and industry stakeholders.

The primary goal of the bi-yearly HVAC/R Career Fair is to foster deeper connections between students, the program, and industry partners, laying the groundwork for the future of the HVAC/R profession. Students had the chance to engage in meaningful conversations with potential employers, showcase their skills, and gain insights into various career paths, including residential, commercial, industrial HVAC, and refrigeration sectors.

Kfir Mendelovitz reflected on the event's impact, stating:

"Every year since the conception of this event, RCC students have been granted an opportunity to meet the employers of our industry in order to showcase themselves and the skills they have gained while at RCC. From writing resumes, mock interviews, and of course interviews, RCC students can participate in the career fair where they can shine and be proud of their accomplishments. When I first graduated from my program, it was difficult to meet so many different employers to find a job. By creating the career fair, I was able to have all the contractors come on campus to meet our students. This event is only growing, and I hope it continues to align our students to great-paying positions once they finish our program."
