Counseling Services Update
Our counseling services, including virtual appointments and drop-ins, will not be available December 16 - January 1 due to the college's winter break. Services will resume as follows:
- Thursday, January 2: Drop-ins available from 10 am to 3 pm only.
- Friday, January 3: Drop-ins available from 10 am to 3 pm only.
- Monday, January 6: Regular hours resume.

College Counselors are here to help you plan and navigate your academic journey so you can successfully complete your courses and earn your certificate, associates’s degree, and/or transfer to your chosen institution. Meeting with a counselor is crucial to your success, so be sure to connect with us early during your first full semester and at least every fall and spring thereafter.
We can help you develop a Student Education Plan (SEP), select courses, find additional support, discover opportunities, and guide you in making decisions. We are your team.

Articulation is the process of developing a formal, written agreement that identifies courses on a “sending” campus that are comparable to, or acceptable in lieu of, specific course requirements at a “receiving” campus.

Counseling Appointments and Drop-Ins
Before Making a Counseling Appointment:
New or returning students at RCC must ensure they have a current application
If you've attended colleges outside our district, send official transcripts to Admissions.
Provide official AP/IB scores to RCC if applicable.
Discuss Credit for Prior Learning if you have relevant military, industry, or work experience.
For non-RCC students, counseling is available only through virtual drop-ins.
Not all issues require a counseling appointment. If you need immediate help, see below to determine your best next step.
Reason for Counseling Appointment:

- Comprehensive Student Educational Plan (SEP) (45-minute Appointment required)
- Readmit Contract/Dismissal Status (Virtual Drop-in or 45-minute Counseling Appointment)
- Transfer Questions/UC and CSU Application Questions (Transfer Center, Virtual Drop-in, or 30-minute Appointment)
- Career Counseling/ Major Identification (Career Center or 30-45 minute counseling appointment)
- Assistance with EDUNAV Registration (Welcome Center or Online Tutorial)
- Registration Hold Removal (Refer to Dismissal Status or the Financial Aid office)
- Transcript Submission (Admissions and Records office)
- Prerequisite Clearance from Other Colleges (Counseling appointment or Counseling Front Desk)
- Resource Support (Engagement Center, Basic Needs Resource Center, or Virtual Drop-in)
- Other (Schedule counseling appointment or call the counseling front desk for assistance at 951-222-8440)
What to Expect
Appointments provide personalized counseling, available in-person, virtually, or by phone, covering:
- Creating a Comprehensive Student Education Plan (SEP)
- Exploring transfer requirements across various institutions
- Evaluating transcripts from prior education
- Strategizing for student success (time management, goal-setting, etc.)
Note: Appointments can be scheduled up to 7 days in advance, with new slots added on weekdays after midnight.
Drop-ins are for quick questions only, served on a first-come, first-serve basis. You'll wait in the Zoom waiting room until a counselor is ready to assist you. Please note, Comprehensive Student Education Plans cannot be made during drop-ins.

EDUNAV- Education Planning and Registration
EDUNAV is an improved education planning and registration system used throughout Riverside Community College District. With EduNav, you plan and register for all your courses in a guided, intuitive system personalized to your needs and preferences. You can quickly:
- Visualize your pathway to graduation, term by term - and understand how any changes to your plan affect your completion timeline
- Block times you'd prefer not to take classes and have the system automatically find classes that meet your needs
- Plan, schedule and register for all your courses in one intuitive interface
- View your entire academic history including any courses transferred from other institutions
Note: EDUNAV must be accessed through MyPortal
To ensure you receive full functionality in EDUNAV, log into MyPortal and access EDUNAV under your registration menu. This will ensure that your custom settings, opt-in or out choices, and more are reflected in the system.

Assembly Bill AB 928 Information/ADT Placement
Assembly Bill 928 requires that students who declare a goal of transfer be placed on an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) pathway if one exists at your home college. This is intended to increase your success and minimize units to completion.
