Riverside City College Students Engage in Empowering Workshops at A2MEND Conference

Dr. Corey  Timberlake, Assistant Professor, Counselor/Coordinator of the UMOJA Program at Riverside City College (RCC), along with 12 students, recently attended the A2MEND Conference, the nation’s largest event focused on the success of African American male students in higher education. The conference provides workshops, guest speakers, and networking opportunities aimed at fostering leadership, academic excellence, and personal growth.

Dr. Timberlake and the students left the conference feeling inspired and energized, with a renewed sense of purpose.

The A2MEND Conference is the nation’s largest event focusing on Black male student success in higher education, attracting over 1,000 professionals and students annually. The conference provides empowering workshops, guest speakers, and networking opportunities aimed at fostering academic, psychological, and leadership growth for African American male students. A2MEND supports mentorship, scholarships, and leadership programs, with a mission to improve the academic experience of Black male students and increase their success in education and beyond.
