RCC to Host Afro-Indigenous Scholar and Author Kyle Mays

Riverside City College (RCC) is proud to welcome Dr. Kyle Mays, an Afro-Indigenous scholar and author, for a special talk on Wednesday, March 5, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in BLCIS 114 A+B. This event is presented by the LHSS Engagement Center in collaboration with the LHSS Division, Planning and Development, and Student Services.
Dr. Mays is an Assistant Professor of African American Studies, American Indian Studies, and History at UCLA. A first-generation scholar, he has authored several books and journal articles, including An Afro-Indigenous History of the United States. His work explores the intersections of Black and Indigenous histories and identities, bringing critical perspectives on race, culture, and activism.
The first 50 students in attendance will receive a free copy of An Afro-Indigenous History of the United States, and refreshments will be served.
This event is free and open to RCC students and the campus community. For more information, contact the LHSS Engagement Center.
