Faculty, staff, and administration a part of the black community

Riverside City College (RCC) is proud to celebrate Black History Month 2025, honoring the theme “African Americans and Labor.” This year’s theme emphasizes the pivotal role African Americans have played in shaping labor movements and advocating for workers' rights throughout U.S. history.

Throughout the month, RCC will provide weekly features in our newsletter, highlighting key figures, historical events, and the profound contributions African Americans have made to labor rights, both in the past and present. These educational highlights will offer valuable insights into the ongoing impact of African Americans in the workforce and their tireless efforts for justice and equality. We encourage everyone to take the time to read through and learn about the Black community.

RCC encourages students, faculty, and the community to engage with these weekly features and to stay informed about upcoming events celebrating Black History Month. Our events calendar, accessible through the following link, will provide details on how to participate in discussions, workshops, and activities that honor the labor achievements and struggles of African Americans.

Black History Month provides an important opportunity for us to reflect on the significant contributions African Americans have made to the labor movement and their continued impact on the fight for equity and justice. We are excited to highlight this critical aspect of Black history and to offer our community ways to engage, learn, and honor this legacy.
