RCC Hosts CalWORKs Region 9 Summit, Bringing Together Community Colleges and County Representatives

Riverside City College (RCC) proudly hosted the CalWORKs Region 9 Summit on March 21, 2025, welcoming representatives from 17 community colleges and Riverside County DPSS to campus. The summit provided a vital space for collaboration, discussion, and resource sharing among CalWORKs professionals dedicated to supporting student success.
RCC was honored to welcome attendees from across the region, including representatives from Barstow College, Copper Mountain College, and other community colleges, as well as Riverside County DPSS. In addition to the in-person attendees, seven participants joined virtually via Zoom, further strengthening the network of support for CalWORKs students. With Region 9 hosting regular monthly meetings online, the opportunity to meet in person fostered deeper connections and the exchange of best practices.
The agenda featured key updates from Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, insightful presentations from UCR Basic Needs and Fresh Success, and a briefing from the State Chancellor’s Office. In addition to productive discussions, participants enjoyed a catered breakfast and lunch from Panera and concluded the day with a tour of RCC’s Kane Building.
