Riverside City College Hosts Financial Aid Awareness Week to Empower Students

Each spring semester, Riverside City College's (RCC) Financial Aid department hosts Financial Aid Awareness Week, a series of events dedicated to supporting students in navigating the financial aid process and encouraging them to apply for the upcoming academic year.

This initiative serves multiple purposes, including raising awareness about financial aid and financial wellness, educating students on grants, scholarships, and financial aid processes, and assisting students in completing their financial aid applications for both the current and upcoming academic years.

Throughout the week, students have access to a variety of workshops, including Cash for College, which offers assistance with application submission, as well as sessions on understanding Satisfactory Academic Progress, a Cal Grant Overview, and Financial Wellness. The main event, Financial Aid Awareness Day, draws hundreds of students seeking valuable resources and guidance.

“Our goal is to ensure that every RCC student has access to the financial resources and support they need to achieve their educational goals,” said Manny Gray, a representative of RCC’s Financial Aid department. “Financial Aid Awareness Week is a vital part of that mission.”

The Financial Aid team at RCC works collaboratively to deliver an informative and impactful week, empowering students with the knowledge and support necessary for a successful educational journey.
