The Riverside Community College District (RCCD) is proud to present a special screening of the powerful documentary film From Here/From There (De Aquí/De Allá) on Thursday, March 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Riverside City College, Room CIS*A 114A & B. This event will include a post-screening Q&A session with the film's protagonist, Luis Cortes Romero, an advocate and legal expert whose experiences bring depth and insight to the narrative of the documentary.
From Here/From There (De Aquí/De Allá) explores the human stories behind immigration, particularly focusing on the ongoing challenges faced by DACA recipients and immigrant communities in the United States. As conversations around immigration reform continue to evolve, this film offers a timely and empathetic perspective, emphasizing the need for policies grounded in compassion and understanding. The documentary delves into the complex and deeply personal experiences of those who navigate the uncertainties of life between borders, challenging audiences to consider the impact of immigration policies on individuals, families, and communities.
Following the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in an interactive Q&A session with Luis Cortes Romero, whose personal story and legal expertise amplify the film's themes. As a nationally recognized advocate for immigrant rights, Cortes Romero has dedicated his career to defending the rights of DACA recipients and fighting for comprehensive immigration reform.
