Riverside City College to Host Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Brunch
Riverside City College (RCC) invites the community to join its Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Brunch on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the RCC Business, Law, and Computer Information Systems Building, Rooms 114 A & B, located at 4800 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92506.
This year’s theme, “Martin Luther King and the Call to Conscience,” highlights the enduring impact of Dr. King’s vision of social justice and service. The event will feature Nana Dr. Chike Akua, an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at Clark Atlanta University, renowned author, and advocate for educational transformation.
Dr. Akua’s inspiring journey from an underperforming student to an educational leader exemplifies resilience and the power of self-determination. His keynote will delve into actionable ways to honor Dr. King's legacy by fostering equity and access in education while empowering future generations.
RCC’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Brunch provides an opportunity for community members, students, educators, and local leaders to reflect on Dr. King’s call to service and its relevance in today’s society. The brunch fosters dialogue and community engagement, continuing the tradition of honoring Dr. King’s unwavering commitment to justice, peace, and equality.
