Riverside City College’s Anesthesia Technology Program Earns Full Accreditation from CAAHEP

Riverside City College's (RCC) Anesthesia Technology Program has achieved full initial accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), effective March 21, 2025. This accreditation, valid through 2030, was granted upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Anesthesia Technology Education (CoA-ATE), with no areas of non-compliance identified.
The program's mission aligns with RCC's commitment to serving a diverse community of learners by offering certificate and degree programs that prepare nationally certified, clinically competent graduates. The curriculum emphasizes both fundamental and advanced clinical procedures, equipping students to assist licensed anesthesia providers effectively.
The accreditation process involved a rigorous review to ensure compliance with the 2015 Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in Anesthesia Technology. The accreditation status remains effective until another status is approved by the CAAHEP Board of Directors.
"This accreditation reaffirms the excellence of our Anesthesia Technology Program and the dedication of our faculty and staff in preparing students for successful careers in the field. We are proud to offer a program that meets the highest industry standards and serves the growing need for certified anesthesia technologists in our region." — Tammy Vanthul, Dean of Instruction for the School of Nursing at Riverside City College
This achievement underscores RCC's dedication to providing high-quality health profession education and addresses the growing demand for certified anesthesia technologists in the Inland Empire/Desert Region and North San Diego County. Notably, prior to RCC's program, Pasadena City College was the only community college offering a similar program.
