Riverside City College Encourages Students to Apply for the Microsoft Cybersecurity Scholarship

Riverside City College (RCC) is proud to announce the Microsoft Cybersecurity Scholarship, an opportunity for students pursuing cybersecurity and technology-related programs. This scholarship, offered through the Last Mile Education Fund, provides financial assistance and career resources to financially vulnerable community college students.
A total of 71 students have been awarded more than $35,000 in funding, ranking the college #16 nationally for its commitment to supporting students pursuing careers in technology. This significant achievement underscores RCC’s dedication to providing high-quality education and resources to empower students in the tech field.
With additional funding still available, RCC is excited to offer this opportunity to an additional 4,400 eligible students nationwide. Every eligible student in the department is encouraged to take advantage of this funding to further their educational journey.
Eligible RCC students can receive:

A one-time $500 cash assistance

Access to local GitHub-sponsored events and the GitHub Student Developer Pack

Global Mentors Initiative participation, open to all applicants
"This scholarship is an excellent opportunity for our cybersecurity students to gain both financial support and career development resources," said Sharri Yates, Dean of Instruction Career and Technical Education at RCC. "We encourage all eligible students to apply as soon as possible."
Eligibility Requirements:

Currently enrolled in a U.S. community college

Pursuing an associate degree, certificate, or professional certification in cybersecurity or a related technology field

Enrollment in full-time or part-time programs, including bootcamps

Open to U.S. citizens, international students, and DACA recipients

Must possess an ITIN or Social Security number to accept the award
Funds can be used for tuition, certification exams, technology, career-building opportunities, home expenses, and more, ensuring that students stay on track for academic success.
Students can apply at Microsoft Cybersecurity Scholarship and are encouraged to do so as soon as possible, as funds are limited. Processing takes a minimum of 7-15 business days.
