RCC to Host Track & Field Meet with Division I & II Competition

Riverside City College is set to continue to make history on February 28 as it hosts one of the most competitive track and field meets in the nation for the 17th year in a row. The Tigers will go head-to-head with four NCAA Division I programs—UC San Diego, UC Riverside, University of San Diego and Cal Baptist—as well as NCAA Division II schools—Azusa Pacific University, Cal State San Marcos and Cal State San Bernardino—and Arizona Christian University.
RCC is the only community college in the U.S. to host a scored meet against Division I programs, an achievement that underscores the strength and reputation of the Tigers’ track and field program. This year’s competition is particularly special, marking the first-ever appearance of UC San Diego at the meet.
“This is an incredible opportunity for our student-athletes to compete at the highest level,” said Coach McCarron, RCC’s track and field men's coach. “We’ve been hosting this meet for 17 years, and every year, the level of competition gets stronger. We’re thrilled to welcome UC San Diego for the first time and to continue growing this event.”
Whether you’re a track and field enthusiast, an RCC supporter, or just looking for a great local sporting event, this is a must-see competition. Mark your calendar, bring your school spirit, and be part of an unforgettable day of elite-level athletics at RCC!
