RCC Places First in College Ballot Bowl
Faculty and staff from throughout the College encouraged students to participate in
recent elections. Student leaders in ASRCC and clubs also participated enthusiastically
in registration and Get out the Vote projects.
In the California University and College Ballot Bowl competition, RCC placed first
for the community college having a percentage of students registering to vote, nearly
1,000.
ASRCC encouraged their peers to register to vote through Instagram, videos, and participated
in Townhall with Secretary of State Alex Padilla. The Political Science Students
Association also produced get out the vote flyers and conducted discussions about
the candidates welcoming student perspectives.
"We all advertised voting every day and talked about it everywhere," Stefany Moctezuma,
ASRCC vice president and PSSA club member said.
