Financial Aid Director Named Manager of the Quarter

Elizabeth Hilton, Director, Student Financial Services has been selected as RCC’s Manager of the Quarter.  Like everyone at RCC, Elizabeth is committed to supporting students, and seeks to remove obstacles to their success. Her passion is solving problems and offering expertise to help others in achieving their goals.  She and her team manage nearly $60 million in student funds through the department annually.

In the words of her nominators, "Elizabeth works diligently and tirelessly to be sure that our students get access to financial aid. She always has her classified professionals' interests at heart.  Words cannot express how much she does for this college; her work shows it all.  She is a true example of what a leader should be.” 

What inspires Elizabeth in her career is helping others and leading a team of knowledgeable, talented, and motivated employees who come together to confront challenges to provide services and support to students.

Elizabeth's work ethic and strong ability to relate to others make her a model colleague, a valuable resource for students, and a representation of the College’s mission and values, supporting equity in both access and success. She is the first in the office and the last to leave.  Another nominator wrote, “She leads by example and lets her team know in no uncertain terms that if needed, she’s there for backup with any job they aren’t able to do.”

Elizabeth’s leadership extends beyond RCC. Her knowledge, experience, and collaborative nature have proven beneficial to her colleagues at Moreno Valley and Norco colleges, as well as the District office. As a subject-matter expert, Elizabeth has provided valuable information, insights, visions, and advice to elected officials and others in the Inland Empire and across the state.

“Whenever there is something new happening or coming up that we need to be made aware of, she's always making sure that we attend webinar workshops or she will attend and bring back the info for the staff,” another nominator said. “(Financial Services) has never been blindsided by any news. 

Elizabeth is an invaluable asset to RCC and proves day in and day out that leading the Office of Financial Services is where she belongs.  Through her leadership the entire RCC community benefits.
