Susan Mills named Interim Vice President Academic Affairs
Susan Mills, Ph.D., former RCCD vice chancellor of Educational Services and Strategic Planning will serve as RCC’s interim vice president of academic affairs. Mills was hired as a faculty member in 1991 and rose through the ranks becoming professor of mathematics; department chair; outcomes assessment coordinator; associate vice president for Institutional Effectiveness; interim vice president of Academic Affairs; and vice president of Planning and Development at Riverside City College and vice chancellor of Educational Services and Strategic Planning at the District.
“In every position she has held, she has moved forward the mission of providing excellence in instruction and advancing equitable access to learning," President Gregory Anderson, Ed.D., said. "RCC is fortunate to have this position filled with a person with such intellect, experience, and integrity."
As the interim vice president, Academic Affairs, Mills will be responsible for leading, planning, implementing, and coordinating institutional and academic programs of the College. She will work with academic deans and members of the faculty to promote student access, enrollment, retention, and academic excellence and success.
A national search is underway for the next leader to fill this position. “I am confident that this search will generate a diverse and robust pool, with applicants possessing the talent, experience, and commitment necessary to lead Academic Affairs at Riverside City College forward,” Anderson added.
