Riverside City College Lands a Spot on "MONOPOLY: Riverside Edition"
For generations, families have gathered around tables to roll the dice, pass GO, and collect $200 in the beloved game of Monopoly. Now, Riverside City College (RCC) is proud to be part of that tradition with its inclusion in the brand-new "MONOPOLY: Riverside Edition." Created by Top Trumps USA, this edition showcases local landmarks and iconic businesses, offering a fresh way for residents to celebrate the city’s rich history — and now, RCC Tigers can claim their own spot on the board.
The game’s official launch took place at the Riverside Convention Center on October 10, with key members of RCC’s leadership and marketing teams in attendance. This edition marks Riverside as the first and only Inland Empire city with its own licensed Hasbro MONOPOLY game.
“Growing up, Monopoly was a family pastime, and I own several versions of the game,” said Leslie Vargas, Senior Public Affairs Officer for the Riverside Community College District. “Helping RCC secure a spot on the board felt like bringing a piece of our Tiger community into a beloved tradition. It was a competitive process, but we knew RCC is a Riverside icon, and we’re thrilled to see it represented.”
Celebrating Riverside’s historic arts, culture, and modern community staples, "MONOPOLY: Riverside Edition" captures the city’s essence, with RCC featured as one of its key landmarks. For over 100 years, RCC has been a vital part of the community, impacting generations of students and families.
The game will be available in select stores and online, with plans to stock it in the RCC bookstore.
