Guardians of Cyber Excellence: RCC Ranks 13th in Cybersecurity Guide's 2024 Assessment

Riverside City College (RCC) announced that its Cyber Defense Program has been ranked 13th in Cybersecurity Guide's 2024 rankings, standing out among approximately 150 cybersecurity associate degree programs across the United States.

Cybersecurity Guide, a trusted resource connecting tomorrow's cybersecurity workforce with top educational options, recognized RCC for its commitment to excellence. The rankings were determined through a meticulous evaluation process considering factors such as graduation rates, retention rates, admission rates, and tuition costs. RCC's Cyber Defense Program not only met but excelled in these criteria, positioning itself among the top 25 schools offering exceptional educational opportunities in cybersecurity.

Skip Berry, Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems and head of the RCC Cyber Program, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, "We are honored and thrilled to be ranked 13th by Cybersecurity Guide. This acknowledgment reflects the dedication of our faculty, the quality of our curriculum, and our commitment to providing students with a robust foundation in Cyber Defense."

The program has recently undergone significant enhancements, including a revamped web presence and the initiation of workshops aimed at imparting practical cybersecurity skills. These initiatives align with the program's core mission to equip students with the latest methodologies in cyber defense, covering areas such as operating systems security, network design, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and security policy.

Riverside City College's Cyber Defense Program, recognized by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity, offers an Associate of Science Degree in Cyber Defense. The curriculum is designed to provide students with comprehensive skills, from secure network design to risk assessment and security policy implementation.
