Riverside City College Women's Cross Country Take Third in a Nail-Biting Finish at the Orange Empire Conference Championship
In one of the closest finishes in recent Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championship history, the top three teams ended within a single point of each other, with Riverside City College (RCC) taking third place on November 4, 2024. The Tigers scored 42 points, just behind Saddleback College with 40 points and Orange Coast College with 41 points, in a race that came down to the wire this past Friday afternoon.
Nadia Munoz led RCC’s impressive performance, placing third with a time of 19 minutes, 8.89 seconds to earn all-conference honors. Teammate Citlaly Ruiz crossed the finish line shortly after, taking fourth place with a time of 20:04.00. Celesta Mendoza (10th, 21:18.45) and Audianna Salgado (13th, 21:38.58) also delivered strong performances, earning all-conference recognition.
RCC’s lineup was rounded out by Jaiden Kelly (21:57.19), Isabella Chavez (22:10.09), Savanna Martin (22:48.44), Evelyn Reyes (23:27.75), and Jessica Munoz (25:00.91), who all contributed to the Tigers' tight race for the top spot.
The Tigers now set their sights on the Southern California Championship, which will be held next Friday at Chaffey College.
