Manager of the Quarter

Riverside City College recognizes the important role that our managers play in the success of the College’s daily operations. The Manager of the Quarter Award is a new recognition program which allows RCC classified professionals, faculty, and managers the opportunity to acknowledge managers for their extraordinary efforts and dedication in fulfillment of RCC’s mission and strategic goals.

Bill Manges

Manager, Technology Support Services

Bill MangesBill Manges, manager Technology Support Services was named the first recipient of the Manager for the Quarter award.

Bill has been a member of the RCC family since 1990 when he was hired as a student worker. He accepted a full-time position as a word processing clerk in 1992 and in 2000 came to RCC as a Microcomputer Support Specialist and then ITA. In 2018, Bill promoted to manager of TSS. For more than 30 years Bill’s work in TSS has supported everyone throughout the organization.

During the stress and anxiety over the last year and a half, Bill has been a constant source of expertise and support for the College. His ability to work through the logistics of our transition to and from remote work was critical to our College and student success. Bill worked on site throughout the pandemic supporting students, initially leading the student laptop program and currently managing the technology upgrade throughout the College.

One of his nominators wrote “Bill demonstrates leadership with solid communication skills, a growth mindset, and a commitment to diligence. Bill has exceptional teamwork skills with his ability to listen carefully, ask good questions, and help others.” These observations and many more make Bill an excellence candidate for this newly created award.

Bill met his beautiful wife Pamela at RCC, they have been married 27 years. Together, they have two daughters Hayley and Clarissa. All are proud RCC alumni.

Please join me in congratulating Bill Manges, RCC’s Manager of the Quarter 2021!
