RCC Animation Showcase
15th RCC Virtual Animation Showcase
Thursday June 10, 2021
The Art department hosted its 15th Animation Showcase this month featuring student
work produced this year and last. The showcase highlights the work of students who
have found new ways to introduce creativity, energy, and art into animation. For many
students, this was their first studio class and they were excited to have the opportunity
to participate in the showcase.
Professor of Art Will Kim was pleased with the positive turnout stating, “Over 200
people attended the virtual showcase via Zoom and YouTube combined, more than we normally
have in the digital library auditorium.” Traditionally, the showcase is held on campus,
but due to the pandemic, it shifted to a virtual event.
Kim assembled an impressive panel of judges to review the student animation projects,
which included directors, animators, and artists representing elite companies and
organizations. This event is just one of a series of exhibitions that reflect the
Art department and College's commitment to artists and curators. You are encouraged
to watch amazing work of our students.
