Riverside City College Launches Campus-Wide Mental Health Workshop Series to Support Student Wellness

Riverside City College (RCC) is proud to announce a robust calendar of Mental Health and Wellness Workshops, designed to promote student well-being through meaningful engagement across academic and cultural centers. From Movement Mondays to hands-on mental health sessions at nine distinct engagement centers, these workshops aim to provide critical support for students navigating the pressures of college life.
RCC’s Mental Health Department is dedicated to ensuring students have access to resources that support not only academic success but also mental and emotional health. By embedding workshops directly into the spaces students already visit — such as the Promise Program, Guardian Scholars, and La Casa — the department is reducing stigma and increasing accessibility for students from all backgrounds.
With strong attendance already reported at the Promise Program’s February 25 workshop, which saw nearly 60 students registered, these workshops are proving to be a valuable resource. Future stories will feature student voices, photos, and workshop highlights to capture the full impact of this series.
The college invites all students to participate in these workshops, whether they’re looking to de-stress, build resilience, or simply learn more about available resources. The series underscores RCC’s commitment to student wellness, equity, and holistic success.
Movement Monday Wellness Workshop – Weekly Series
Every Monday
Location: Bradshaw 111B (Heritage Room)
Special Locations:
- May 5, 2025 – Inner Quad Lawn
- June 9, 2025 – Inner Quad Lawn
Note: No workshop will be held on April 28, 2025.
Movement Monday invites students to pause, stretch, and move their bodies to relieve stress, increase focus, and improve overall well-being. These workshops incorporate light movement, breathing exercises, and wellness tips students can apply throughout the week.
Mental Health Workshops at Engagement Centers
In addition to Movement Monday, RCC’s mental health team is bringing workshops directly to students through academic and cultural engagement centers. These tailored sessions create safe spaces for students to discuss mental health, learn coping strategies, and connect with campus resources.
