Riverside City College Nursing Program Awarded $322,767 in CCCCO Growth Funding
Riverside City College (RCC) is proud to announce that its Nursing Program has been awarded $322,767 in growth funding for the 2024-2025 fiscal year from the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO). This funding will enable RCC to expand its nursing program, fostering educational opportunities for aspiring healthcare professionals and meeting critical workforce demands in the region.
The CCCCO’s Nursing Enrollment Growth and Retention program grant is intended to help California Community Colleges address healthcare workforce shortages by increasing student enrollment and supporting successful program completion. RCC's allocation will specifically support the addition of three new cohorts, each consisting of a minimum of eight students who will receive comprehensive training over two years.
"We are thrilled to receive this funding, which will allow us to grow our program and support more students in their journey to becoming skilled healthcare providers," said Lynn Wright, Vice President of Academic Affairs at RCC. "This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our nursing faculty, staff, and administrators who continually strive for excellence in education."
This funding represents a strategic investment in RCC’s mission to educate and train future healthcare providers and further emphasizes the college's commitment to supporting community health and workforce needs. Special thanks are extended to Dean Tammy Vant Hul and the entire RCC Nursing Team for their outstanding dedication to student success.
