Performance Riverside Receives $40,000 Grant
Fine and Performing Arts is proud to share that Performance Riverside was the recipient of a $40,000 grant from the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation.
In recent years, the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation has provided Performance Riverside with generous support to enhance program capabilities. This year, funds were specifically requested to improve audience development and technology and support non-traditional programing due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Since 1983, Performance Riverside has presented over 240 productions, with attendance surpassing one million patrons. This has included more than 27 original works for adult and family audiences and the Discovery Theatre program, which has introduced live theatre to over 360,000 children from throughout the Inland Southern California region. Performance Riverside has received numerous awards for its actors, technicians, directors, choreographers, and the Discovery Theatre program.
The success of Performance Riverside rests in part on its diversity. Audiences are made up of all ages, socio-economic and ethnic categories; including subscribers, reserved-seat ticket holders, participants at senior centers, Head Start groups, and K-12 public, private, and home school organizations from throughout Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
