The third week of October, Riverside City College (RCC) took significant steps to deepen its partnership with the Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) and engage local families through educational events. These efforts reflect RCC’s continued commitment to student success and community outreach.

On October 22, RCC President Claire Oliveros and Outreach Services Supervisor Delia Tijerina met with RUSD principals and Superintendent Renee Hill at Ramona High School to foster stronger relationships and promote collaboration between the college and the district’s schools. During the meeting, President Oliveros highlighted recent campus achievements, including the progress of RCC’s new student housing project, which aims to enhance accessibility for future students. She also shared RCC’s latest publication and school-specific data, reaffirming the college’s dedication to supporting RUSD students in their academic journeys.

Continuing the momentum, Delia Tejerina coordinated the RCC’s Back to School for You event took place on October 24, hosted by the Outreach team and the Welcome Center in collaboration with the Student Parent Group. This event was designed to provide critical support for prospective students and their families as they prepare for the upcoming semester.

The evening began with dinner and a warm welcome from RCC’s Dean of Enrollment Services, setting the tone for a night of learning and engagement. Attendees explored RCC’s wide range of programs and services, gaining insight into how the college can support their educational goals. A key highlight of the event was the opportunity to connect with registration support assistants, ensuring students receive personalized help throughout the enrollment process.

To further streamline the journey to college, attendees will be followed up through RCC’s matriculation process, ensuring they are fully registered and prepared for their first day of classes.

These initiatives underscore RCC’s ongoing efforts to promote student success, strengthen connections with local schools, and make education more accessible for all.
