Student Housing Immunization and TB Screening Requirements
Student Housing Immunization and TB Screening Requirements
To promote a safe and healthy living environment, all residential students are required to meet the following immunization and tuberculosis (TB) screening requirements before moving into student housing.
Required Immunizations
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
- Requirement: Two doses of the MMR vaccine, given at least 28 days apart, on or after your first birthday.
- Alternative: A blood test (titer) showing positive immunity. If completing this requirement by blood test, you must upload your lab results.
- Important: MMR and Varicella vaccines are live vaccines and must either be given together or at least 28 days apart.
Varicella (Chickenpox)
- Requirement: Two doses of the Varicella vaccine, given at least 28 days apart, on or after your first birthday.
- Alternative: A blood test (titer) showing positive immunity. If completing this requirement by blood test, you must upload your lab results.
- Important: A documented history of having chickenpox is not sufficient proof of immunity.
- Reminder: MMR and Varicella vaccines must be given together or at least 28 days apart.
Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap)
- Requirement: One dose of Tdap vaccine received on or after your 11th birthday, followed by a booster every 10 years.
- Note: Vaccines such as DTaP or Td do not meet this requirement. Only Tdap is accepted.
Meningococcal Conjugate (Serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135)
- Requirement: One dose given on or after age 16 for all students aged 21 years or younger.
TB Screening
All residential students must complete a Tuberculosis (TB) risk questionnaire prior to moving in.
- If you answer “yes” to any screening questions, you must complete a TB skin test or blood test within one year of moving into housing.
- Note: Some vaccines may interfere with TB testing. If you have recently received vaccines (within the past 4–6 weeks), consult your healthcare provider.
