Student Housing Immunization and TB Screening Requirements

Required Immunizations

Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)

  • Requirement: Two doses of the MMR vaccine, given at least 28 days apart, on or after your first birthday.
  • Alternative: A blood test (titer) showing positive immunity. If completing this requirement by blood test, only official and final lab reports that include a numerical value will be accepted.
  • Important: MMR and Varicella vaccines are live vaccines and must either be given together or at least 28 days apart.

Varicella (Chickenpox)

  • Requirement: Two doses of the Varicella vaccine, given at least 28 days apart, on or after your first birthday.
  • Alternative: A blood test (titer) showing positive immunity. If completing this requirement by blood test, only official and final lab reports that include a numerical value will be accepted.
  • Important: A documented history of having chickenpox is not sufficient proof of immunity.
  • Reminder: MMR and Varicella vaccines must be given together or at least 28 days apart.

Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (Tdap)

  • Requirement: One dose of Tdap vaccine received on or after your 11th birthday, followed by a booster every 10 years.
  • Important: If during the term of your residential contract, your most recent Tdap dose will become greater than 10 years ago; it will need to be updated PRIOR to move in.
  • Note: Vaccines such as DTaP or Td do not meet this requirement. Only Tdap is accepted.
