Who is Eligible For RCCD–UCR Residential Scholars at UCR?

  • Must be 18 years or older (some exceptions may be made)
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits at any of the three RCCD Colleges: Moreno Valley College, Norco College, Riverside City College

  • Must be Pell eligible determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Application or receive equivalent of FAFSA. 

  • Must be in Good Academic Standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
  • Must plan to transfer from RCCD to a four-year university, preferably UCR
  • Must commit to an annual housing contract

There are no hidden fees or change of contract rates once you move in. If someone moves out of your room or apartment, you will never be obligated to pay their bill; and if you are having issues in your room, our staff can help! We encourage you to contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships regarding how best to finance living on-campus.

Below you will find a checklist to ensure you have completed all the steps needed to be considered for housing.

  • STEP 1: Submit your housing application
  • STEP 2: Apply for Financial Aid
    • If you do not apply for financial aid you will not be eligible for housing. 
  • STEP 3: Housing applications and related data are compiled
  • STEP 4: RCC confirms your eligibility and priority status
  • STEP 5: Complete MedProctor Immunization Process
  • STEP 6: Approved applications are forwarded to UCR
  • STEP 7: UCR reaches out to engage with applicants
  • STEP 8: Applicant creates Housing Portal Account
  • Step 9: Roomate Selection Process 
    • If you are a late applicant, you will be placed with a roommate and will not be able to participate in Roommate Selection
  • STEP 10: Room Selection Process
    • If you are a late applicant, you will be placed and will not be able to participate in room selection
  • STEP 11: Sign lease/contract
  • STEP 12: Move into your new housing as an RCCD student!

Transportation
The Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) provides bus services, including the CommuterLink Express, which departs every 20 minutes from UCR to RCC. This scenic route brings passengers to the RCC campus within 30 minutes. Active students on campus will be able to utilize this service for free with their student ID.
