While it is impossible for anyone to guarantee safety and security anywhere, Housing Services has implemented many programs to help ensure students’ safety and demonstrate our commitment to students’ well-being. Pedestrian traffic is limited in campus housing by student key/card access. Most common areas and passageways are outfitted with security cameras. Emergency-response Blue Phones are located adjacent to housing communities. The university also has a dedicated Police Department and Campus Service Officers (CSO’s) that monitor the campus, including housing properties, in vehicles and on foot. Yes. There are multiple laundry rooms in the UCR campus housing community. Laundry services are paid for through an online app. The app allows the user to find available machines, pay for services, and be notified when their laundry is finished. Follow the directions at the link below to get started. Laundry costs per load are $1.50 to wash and $1.00 to dry. Payments on the app can only be made through credit/debit cards. DIRECTIONS

Financial & Administrative

Rent is $750 per month for most residents. However, a limited number of units with an alternative floor plan are available at up to $850 per month for those who require special accommodations. If you are assigned to one of these units, you will be notified in advance. Rent includes utilities, WiFi and furniture.

Although housing is eligible to be covered by financial aid, the amount of coverage is best determined by speaking to a financial aid specialist. Any student receiving financial aid may utilize funds to pay for the cost of housing. (It is important to note that the financial aid process is separate from the student housing process and that each applicant’s financial aid is different).

About Financial Aid

Common Areas & Guidelines

Resident Assistants (RAs) are students who live in the community and are assigned a group of student residents. They help improve the resident experience and handle emergency and safety protocols.

Pets are not permitted, except fish in an aquarium with a maximum size of 10 gallons. The maximum allowable aquarium gallons per apartment is 40 gallons. Breach of this provision will result in a non-negotiable fee for fumigation services in addition to any appropriate cleaning or repair charges deemed necessary. Keeping a pet is grounds for immediate eviction. Pet prohibitions apply to all mammals, reptiles, birds, and insects, owned or visiting, with the exception of assistance animals approved by RCC and UCR Housing.

Assistance animals, including Service and Emotional Support animals must be registered with RCC-DRC and the ability of UCR Housing to accommodate the animal must be confirmed by UCR Housing prior to bringing any such animal into the community.
