The David Dant Employee of the Month recognition program was created to recognize employees who have served the college in an exceptional manner through their hard work while exhibiting a positive and supportive attitude.

Employee of the Month 2022
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Matthew Schoenmann as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for October 2022.
Matthew joined the RCC team in 2013 and is a permanent part-time Journalism Specialist
and Viewpoints Co-Advisor. Matthew is being recognized for his dedication to the program,
outstanding leadership, commitment to equity, and outstanding responsiveness in addressing
Jason Graham is the September recipient of the David Dant Employee of the month award. Jason joined the college community part-time in 1993 and became the full-time Theatre Scenic Specialist in May of 1998. Jason is being recognized for his exceptional teamwork and outstanding work ethic.
Raymond Couture is being recognized for the month of August. Raymond began his career as a student worker in 1981 and was hired part-time in 1984. He obtained his current position as the Production Coordinator for Performance Riverside in 1998 and has been a part of the Fine and Performing Arts Division ever since. Raymond is being recognized for his outstanding ability to develop creative solutions and his dedication to his team.
Carol Wohlk, recognized for her ability to embrace change, ability to effectively collaborate with others, and her pursuit of growth, was named Classified Employee of the Month. Carol has served RCC and students in the CalWORKs program for more than 20 years. She began her employment as a part-time administrative assistant and over time earned a full-time position as CalWORKs specialist. According to her nominator, “She loves her job and it is apparent in her desire to do excellent work, as she assists students.”
Working in the CalWORKs office for more than two decades has provided Carol experience and knowledge that benefits students and her colleagues. However, she embraces change and is ready to learn new skills. Carol continues to give back to the College participating in functions, such as Welcome Day, distribution of Hungry Tiger bags, and resource fairs.
“Carol's commitment to the College goes above and beyond to provide the best service to students, staff, and the community,” her nominator said. “She values the partnership the RCC CalWORKs program has with the county DPSS CalWORKs program and strives to maintain the collaborative efforts while being open to new policies established that benefit our students.”
Dulce Alejandro, student resource specialist for TRIO-Student Support Services is this month's Classified Professional of the Month. Dulce joined the RCC community in 2016 and has proven her commitment to students and the College. She was recognized for her support of students, her outstanding work ethic, and her unique ability to overcome communication barriers. Dulce comes to work with great energy and motivation that is infectious. She always goes above and beyond in everything she does. The effort and energy level she gives her students is inspiring.
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Melody Fries as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for May 2022. Melody began her employment at RCC in 2015 as a student worker and is now an administrative assistant II for the Library.
Melody was selected for her dedication to supporting colleagues and students alike, exemplary service, and ability to achieve success under pressure
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Julie Taylor as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for April 2022. Julie is an Instructional Department Specialist supporting the Math and Sciences Division and was selected for her support of students, faculty, and administrators, willingness to go above and beyond, and invaluable ideas. She has been with the District since 2005 when she started as an Instructional Department Specialist supporting the multiple divisions
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Rafal Helszer as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for March 2022. Rafal joined the RCC team in 2000 as a student worker in Counseling and obtained a full-time position as Counseling Clerk III in 2003. He is currently working in a temporary reassignment as an Educational Advisor. Rafal is being recognized for his ability to be an innovative problem-solver, his outstanding work ethic, and his dedication to both students and colleagues.
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Michelle Dassow as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for February 2022. Michelle began her career as a permanent part-time employee in 2002 and achieved a full-time position in 2004. She is currently serving as a Student Success and Support Program Assistant in the Counseling department. Michelle is being recognized for her integrity, leadership abilities, innovation, and authentically kind attitude in serving the college community.
It is with great pleasure that we recognize David DiLeo as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for January 2022. David began his career with the Disability Resource Center in 1999 as an hourly sign language interpreter, served as a senior interpreter from 2004 through 2020, and is now an adaptive technology specialist for the department. David is being recognized for his commitment to equity, tireless dedication to our students, and his strength in innovation of new ideas and processes.
Employees of the Year 2021
With so many exemplary and exceptional individuals doing extraordinary work during this difficult year it was impossible to select a single classified professional as employee of the year. Following a rigorous selection process, the College selected Jennifer Bielman as the 2021 RCC Classified Professional of the Year and Linda Sing as the 2021 RCC nominee for the California Community College Board of Governors Classified Employee of the year.
Jennifer is an administrative assistant IV for Business Services was recognized for her work in creating a documentation process for the student laptop loan program, her instrumental role in the launch of the new RCC website; and her work on developing multiple training presentations and materials on a variety of resources.
Linda has been with the District since 1997 when she was hired as a library clerk II. In 1998 she became the library technical assistant II. Linda was selected as the 2021 RCC nominee for the California Community College Board of Governors Classified Employee of the Year for her contributions to the creation of the library materials curbside checkout system for students, coordination of the laptop loan program, and consistent excellence in customer service.
December 2021- Vevesi Save
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Vevesi Save as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for December 2021. Vevesi joined the RCCD team in 2007 as an Economic Development Assistant at the District office, was an administrative assistant III at Moreno Valley college beginning in 2016, and is currently an administrative assistant IV for the Student Services division. She is being recognized for her dedication to serving our students and her calm and professional demeanor. Vevesi enjoys singing karaoke loud, proud, and off key, hanging out playing board games with her very large family, and supporting her nieces and nephews with school plays, sports events and Disney adventures
November 2021- Melinda Miles
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Melinda Miles as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for November 2021. Melinda joined the RCC family in 2001 as a secretary for the Disabled Student Program and has since been an administrative assistant IV in both Academic Affairs and now in the Planning and Development department. She is being recognized for her positive attitude, ability to take on new challenges, and the support she gives to those around her.
October 2021- Leonard Payne
Senior Custodian Leonard Payne is the David Dant Employee of the Month for October. Leonard joined the RCC team in 2018 and during the short time at the college he has impressed so many. “Leonard is an incredible asset to our institution", his nominator states. “He is dependable, punctual, professional and has done a great job adapting through a very challenging time. He is innovative, instituting new cleaning methods and new sanitization standards, all following new OSHA regulations. Leonard is professional, team-oriented, helpful, supportive and comes to work with a constant CAN-DO attitude.” As a senior custodian, Leonard leads his custodial team providing motivation, guidance, and care for their success at RCC.
September 2021- Sendy Powell
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Sendy Powell as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for September 2021. Sendy began her career with the District in 2007 as a Payroll Technician, was formerly also a Budget Analyst, and is now a Financial & Technical Analyst in the Business Services division. Sendy is being recognized for her exceptional teamwork, outstanding customer service, and innovation.
August 2021- Jeanine Gardner
Recognized for her diligent, unwavering hard work, and leadership in service to students, Jeanine Gardner was selected as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month for August 2021. Gardner is a senior academic advisor in Admissions & Records, who began her career at RCC in 2015. Jeanine consistently supports the College in strategic planning and curriculum and provides excellent service to students and other departments, researching issues quickly and finding solutions. Her colleagues are impressed with her ability to remain positive even when faced with challenges and how she continues to deliver accurate and timely service to students.
July 2021-Janelle Wortman
Recognized for her workforce excellence, outstanding customer service, and commitment to the Facilities, Maintenance & Operations department, Janelle Wortman was named the David Dant Employee of the Month for July 2021. Janelle began her career at RCC in 2006, and for the past 15 years has held positions including administrative assistant IV in the Office of the Vice President of Business Services and her current position as facilities utilization and access coordinator. "Janelle has been exceedingly effective while maintaining a positive attitude." Robert Beebe, director of Facilities, Maintenance & Operations said.
June 2021- Mary Renteria
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Mary Renteria as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for June 2021. Mary began her career at RCC in 2005 and over the past 17 years, she has supported several college departments as an administrative assistant including Applied Technology, Workforce Development/Gateway to College, Institutional Effective and Student Services. Mary is an administrative assistant III who supports the Student Services team. Their nomination recognizes Mary for her dedication to the Student Services team, for consistently going above and beyond. Students are the forefront of Mary’s work as she supports matters related to student conduct, budget management, and event planning.
“Mary is an institutional gem and is the cornerstone for our office” Dean of Student Services Thomas Cruz-Soto said. “For the dean of student services area, Mary is a rock star!”
May 2021- David Lee
It is with great pleasure that we recognize David Lee as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for May 2021. David began his career at RCC as a student worker from 1994 - 1996. He has been in the assessment testing service area since he obtained a classified permanent position in 2001 and is currently servicing as the college's Assessment Testing Coordinator. David is being recognized for collaborative efforts, commitment to students, and support of faculty and classified professionals.
April 2021- MegAnne Cruz
It is with great pleasure that we recognize MegAnne Cruz as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for April 2021. MegAnne is an evening custodian in the Facilities department and was selected for her exemplary service and commitment to excellence in performance of her job duties. MegAnne joined the RCC team 2018.
March 2021- Loren Overbo
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Loren Overbo as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for March 2021. Loren is an educational advisor in the Athletics department and was selected for her tireless dedication and continued support of over 500+ students during these difficult times. Loren joined the RCC team October 2016.
February 2021- Jennifer Bielman
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Jennifer Bielman as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for February 2021. Jennifer is an Administrative Assistant IV for Business Services and was selected for her work in creating a documentation process for the student laptop loan program, her instrumental role in the launch of the new RCC website; and her work on developing multiple training presentations and materials on a variety of resouces (Adobe Sign, Etrieve, and the revised A/C Transmittal process). Jennifer joined the RCC team August 2019.
January 2021- Armando Castro
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Armando Castro as the recipient of the David Dant Employee of the Month award for January 2020. Armando is an Instructional Media Technician with Technology Support Services – Instructional Media and was selected for his ability to guide clients through the video production process, outstanding customer service, and his team player attitude. Armando has been with RCC since 1980!
